GET TO KNOW

MEGAN KENDROT

What’s your favorite way to start your morning before teaching?

I always wake up early, somewhere between 430 and 530. After a large glass of water, my husband and I make a warm drink and sit together for the first hour of our day. Our time to visit, connect, check in, before life gets in the way.

Coffee, tea, or green juice?

All of the above. I like it all. And my kitchen is stocked with Coffees, Teas, Mudwater, Ryze, Matcha, AG1 green drink, and anything else that I get suckered into buying.

What’s your go-to post-yoga meal or snack?

Seedy Avocado Toast!

What’s your current song or playlist obsession?

This changes daily, depending on my mood. I love everything from Trevor Hall to 90’s, Rock and Roll to Enya, Blues to Modern Hits.

When you are not teaching yoga, what are you doing?

My children are my biggest joy. Off the mat I am creating more ways to spend time with them. Playing Frisbee golf, hiking or thrifting with my 11 year old Phoenix. With my 17 year old Canyon, it is simply manipulating my schedule to be home when he pops in, so I can share a snack with him, a conversation, and a hug before he pops back out, on to his next adventure. If the kids are busy, then I am taking a walk with my husband or a friend, reading a good novel, or working in my yard.

What’s one thing your students might be surprised to learn about you?

I opened my first business at age 19. I opened an espresso stand and a seasonal fresh produce stand in Clark Fork. It was a big success, despite me knowing nothing about running my own business nor anything about coffee or produce at the beginning.

Describe yourself in three words.

Empathetic
Understanding
Confident

What originally brought you to yoga?

My busy mind brought me to yoga. I use yoga as a tool to help silence my thoughts and calm my anxiety. I have never looked at yoga as my workout. My yoga practice is my moving meditation.

How long have you been teaching yoga and what are your certifications?

I am a ACE certified Group Exercise Instructor. I am also certified in indoor cycling through ExpertRating and through the YMCA, certified in Barre through AmericanBarre, and have my 200 HR yoga certification through YogaRenew.

What’s your favorite pose right now and your “love-to-hate” pose?

I am always craving deep hip opening poses, so my favorite poses would be a pigeon pose or a lizard pose.

How do you want your students to feel when they leave your classes?

Happy. I want my students to feel happy, happy to be at WE, happy to be taking my class, happy with their accomplishments as we build our strength and endurance, happy with their results.

What’s the biggest lesson yoga has taught you off the mat?

I am my biggest support system. My journey is what I want it to be. I am the only one standing in my way.
